Friday in Cyprus

Friday is our day off here in Polis. So, I spent the morning doing some work on the computer. Then we decided to take a ride to Agios Georgios near Paphos to have lunch at a taverna that overlooks the small island of Geronisos. The food is always very good – we usually have a salad, fries, halloumi, calamari, and octopus.

Then we took a new route back to Polis and got to see a part of the island that I had not seen before. Along the way, we were stopped by a herd of goats crossing the road. It was the largest herd of goats I have ever seen, maybe 300 goats. They brought traffic to a standstill for about five minutes before part of the herd stopped to let let the cars go on by.

Then, for dinner we went to an Irish Pub to have pizza – they actually make a very good pizza – and to relax and watch the sunset. The pub has a great view of the beach and the setting sun. It is hard working in Cyprus. I am exhausted.
