Thinking about Polis

So, today was another day of looking at pottery in Polis. The project stores its pottery at aDSCN2983 storage place (apotheke) up the road from the site. It was a little hard to concentrate, there were two mice who keep running across the aisle and startling me. The nice thing about helping out at this project is that it causes me to think through the way we do some things at PKAP, and hopefully we can make things run a bit more effectively at PKAP in the future. This, in turn, got me thinking about the differences between Larnaka and Polis. While both cities are located along the coast, the two cities are very different. For example, in size – Larnaka is a city of about 70,000 and Polis is a village of about 3,000.   Larnaka is located along the southeast coast of Cyprus, while Polis is located along the northwest coast – the two places are two hours apart by car. This results in slightly different weather, for example the temperature in Polis today was (29 Celsius/ 84 Fahrenheit) while Larnaka was (31 Celsius/ 88 Fahrenheit).

I tried out Lay’s Baked Barbecue potato chips. I was surprised, the chips were good, but lacked much barbecue flavor. I asked Bill to try one and he agreed that the barbecue flavor was not strong, in fact it was quite weak. So, I give it a ***** 5 out of 10.
