Saturday in Larnaka

Today the museum was closed, and will be closed tomorrow also. So, I spent the day reading, and doing some writing, etc. One positive bit of news for those who plan on visiting Larnaka, a new Lebanese restaurant opened up in the alley behind the hotel. The bad news last year was that the Lebanese restaurant we used to go to for a good, inexpensive meal closed down, so there was no chicken schwarma for the project last summer. Bill and I ate lunch at this new place and it was very, very good – as well as inexpensive. To be honest, I think it is better than the old one, to be honest. It did not have chicken schwarma but did have swish taouk. The good news is that this means that we can have a bit of variety in our lunches, while the bad news is that it got me wonderingDSCN2943 how long before we can arrange a visit to the Syrian Friendship Club? Those that have been there know what I am saying. I was worried that since we would be spending next month in Polis that the trip to Nicosia would be too long to make to have dinner there. Fortunately, it turns out that there is one in Limassol and it recently got a very favorable review.

Potato Chip review for the day – Baked Lays with Mediterranean Herbs. Not too bad, but once again not a lot of flavor. My verdict — *****(5) out of 10.
