Iraq’s National Museum has turned to the US Government and Google to help more visitors see the museum’s collections. The museum is still struggling since many of its artifacts were looted in the recent conflict. The three partners will work together to create a virtual museum that will be open to the public sometime next year. Google will be responsible for electronically cataloguing the more than 14,000 digital artifact photos. This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in Mesopotamian history and archaeology.
