Episode 10 ("The Hole") of PKAP’s 2nd documentary (Emerging Cypriot) is now available on-line for viewing. In our survey area, on top of the hill known as Vigla, is a large hole with a fig tree growing out of it. We assumed that it was a cistern, but had done only a little exploration around the edges of the hole until last summer. We had, of course, made lots of jokes about sending students down into the hole but never followed through on that threat. Last summer, however, Michael Brown and Matt Dalton decided to climb down into the hole and investigate further. As the project staff member charged with worrying over things, I would have tried to stop them but they chose a day and time that I was not around to conduct their foray into the hole.
