Today was really the beginning of the end of the project. We are now turning our attention to the wrapping up of odds and ends. For exampe, a small team spent three hours this morning measuring, photographing, and GPSing the exposed portions of the Late Roman wall around Vigla. While the fortification team worked on that, I wandered around the ridges of Vigla looking at pottery. There was a lot of pottery out there and lots of different wares from many different periods – in fact there are several spots that have numerous sherds close together. We still have to formally survey the area and plan to do that on Monday afternoon.
