Today was more of the same – museum work in the morning and fieldwork in the afternoon. In the museum we continued cataloguing artifacts for publication. The students wasked lots of pottery, and I mean alot. Unfortunately, they still have a lot more to wash. John Hunt and Michael Brown came by the museum to show us the latest work on the images from Vigla and it now looks like there is a basilica in the fortress on Vigla – the images show the apse of the church. While this waqs expected in a way, it is good news and will certainly impact our plans for upcoming seasons. In fact, we are going to do a little more survey work around Vigla to ensure that we have as much information as possible about the site.
