Interesting Day, Geopolitically Speaking

We had quite a day today. We began our museum work in earnest and started cataloguing pottery. It took a while to pull everything out and get organized, but we are now ready to mover more quickly. Our fieldteam ran into a small problem, one of our survey areas that we wanted to work in appears to be in the UN Buffer Zone. Cyprus is divided into two parts and has been since 1974. The division between these sections is patrolled by the UN and they felt that we had strayed into the buffer zone and did not have permission to be there. We pulled up our flags and laid out a new survey area on the backside of Vigla, but this cost us a day’s work. So, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
